Stewart, Brown & Co acts as auditor for a range of operating entities, including large family owned companies, not-for-profit organisations, etc.

Our audits are performed in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards usually adopting a risk based approach. This involves a detailed analysis of the client's business and systems of internal control to identify areas that pose the greatest risk of being materially misstated in the financial statements. Our detailed testing procedures are then tailored to meet the risks identified.

We utilise "leading edge" technology in relation to the audit process. All audits are conducted using the Caseware audit software (internationally respected software specifically designed for audits) which ensures that each audit risk area is properly considered and all working papers (including client source documentation and trial balances) are scanned and copied. This allows the audit to be conducted in a "paperless" environment as far as practicable.

All audits are supported by a detailed audit engagement document setting out the scope, nature and timeline for completion of the audit.
