ARC Funding Analysis Resources and Updates

Data Collections are still being accepted.
Please contact ACANZ.fundinganalysis@stewartbrown.com.au to advise your estimated timing on completing the data collection.

ARC Funding Analysis Participants should regularly check this page for updates and practical guidance on completing the data collection workbook. It is the preference of the ACA and StewartBrown that detailed aged residential care data is collected per option A by the four care domains:

Rest Home

Rest Home

Hospital

Hospital

Dementia

Dementia

Psychogeriatric

Psychogeriatric

This will deliver a more credible dataset to pinpoint the funding adequacy across the care levels and strengthen lobbying and advocacy efforts with government and key sector stakeholders. Reliable data-led evidence will support robust analysis to influence funding reforms that can make the sector financially sustainable and investible. This is required to support capital investment to increase future supply for an ageing population.

A significant cost for aged residential care is the Nursing and Caregiver time and cost allocation. The resource utilisation will vary depending on resident mix across the care levels and the resident acuity.

Corporate administration recharges

It is important that cost of providing aged residential care accounts for the cost of shared corporate support services such as your finance, IT, payroll and human resource functions. These functions are essential for aged residential care operators. The following material provides practical guidance for allocating administration charges for organisations that do not currently have an administration recharge methodology back to their business units.

Data definition updates

Doctor fees should be mapped to "Other direct  care, resident services and consumables" in the detailed ARC data collection.  The data definitions have been tightened to specifically include "doctor fees" in this line item to remove ambiguity.
